Programs Offered

ISR Self-Rescue

12 – 24 months: Rollback to Float

Starting at 12 months old, these lessons focus on teaching the child to roll onto their back to float, rest and breathe, and to be able to maintain this life-saving position until help arrives. This is the most important component to ISR swimming lessons. Teaching a child to find their float from every position possible, equipping them with the lifelong skill to Self-Rescue®. These lessons are between 6-8 weeks depending on the child’s foundation and skill level entering.

24 months – 6 years+: Swim-Float-Swim

These lessons focus on teaching the swim-float-swim survival sequence. Children learn to swim with their head down; roll onto their back, float, rest, breathe; and roll back over to resume swimming until they reach the side of the pool where they can either crawl out or hold their float until they are rescued. These lessons are between 6-8 weeks depending on the child’s foundation and skill level entering.

ISR Maintenance Lessons:

For children who have completed the ISR Self-Rescue program and who want to maintain their skills. These lessons are recommended by the instructor at varying intervals, usually once or twice a month. Please speak with your instructor about what frequency is best for your child.

ISR Refresher Sessions:

As children grow their skills will need to be adjusted to their new height and weight. Refreshers are highly recommended to refine their skills as they most likely have hit developmental milestones since the last time they have seen us. These sessions range from 3-4 weeks and for children who have completed the ISR program previously.

Stroke Lessons Ages 5 years and Up:

For students with some swim background, these lessons focus on deepening your child’s already present swim abilities. Focuses include the three main strokes: breast, back, and freestyle, as well as floating. Lessons are available at varying times and intervals depending on your child’s age and needs. Some lessons are 5 days a week, we also offer 3 day (M/W/F) and 2 day a week (T/Th) intervals. Lessons range from 12 – 30 minutes depending on program structure.
